No rope for Soumya Murderer??!

And yet again Govindachamy escapes from the hands of the law... I don't know why this happens again and again. Why can't the Supreme Court reward him with a death penalty? Why is the sentence being reduced to life sentence? Why is the Supreme Court and the Kerala Government failing to bring justice to Soumya? The answer to this is lack of evidence. Even the Jisha murder case in Kerala has reached the point of 'no where'.  Such criminals, who get life sentence, are being well-fed everyday and become what is called 'hale and hearty'. Once they are out of the prison, they repeat the same crime again.  According to me, giving a life sentence to a criminal is like setting him free.  Our nation should learn from countries like Saudi Arabia, where such things are dealt in the right way. The criminals who indulge in such crimes are given death penalty right away.  It is time that we take the matters into our hands. It is high time that we teach these ...

Discrimination prevails in Developed Countries!

These days, there are lot of issues being reported from all over the world based on racial discrimination. We, humans, should be ashamed of ourselves, not because we are not able to stop this discrimination, but because we are not able to stand up for those who face discrimination. It is very common in the UK and in the USA.  Recently, an Indian was shot in the USA because of his race. He was told to go back to his country. Even today, I read a news from Manchester where an Asian was discriminated by a Subway employee (who was later fired). Lets think for a second, why do you think we discriminate people? Why do you think it is still prevalent in many countries even today? Just think about it. Discrimination happens mostly in the developed countries. This is because the people of those nations develop a thought in their minds that they are more advanced and smarter and they consider themselves superior than others. In a sense, we still haven't attained true freedo...

No Civic Sense in Air India flights?

We Indians have a habit. We never ever bother about the other person. It can even be said in one word as Selfishness. What is  happening to the Indians? Where are their hygenic sense? Recently, An Air India flight operating in the Delhi-Chicago sector was delayed due to messy and smelly toilets. There were 12 toilets out of which only 8 of them were operational. Shortly after take-off, all the eight toilets again became faulty and all the passengers could not use the toilets for the entire 17-hour flight. When the cabin crew was asked how did it become faulty, everyone blamed on the passengers. Of course, it is the passenger doing this. But can't they do a thorough inspection of all the toilets before the push-back of the plane? I often travel to Qatar with Qatar Airways. I have always found the ground staff doing inspections in the cockpit, down in the Cargo area, behind with the cabin crew ensuring all the foodstuffs are on-board, and even the toilets. But for a change, this tim...

RaGa and his melodious Drama!

BJP emerged victorious in the UP elections that took place recently. RaGa made many plans for a Congress-led Government in UP, which as expected became an utter failure. He says that the Congress lost in UP as the party was a little weak during the election period. I think he needs to stop making silly excuses like these. I think this happened because they aimed at forming alliances instead of aiming to be victorious, thereby losing most of their precious time. Now, RaGa's new statement is that he is making structural changes in the party. I often wonder, does he know that he is making a fool of himself in front of millions of people? What is the use of these changes? I think, if he wants success in the coming elections, he needs to think MORE sensible instead of speaking out non-sense. :)

The Maharastra Tragedy!!

The Maharashtra Bridge Collapse was an extremely tragic one, which claimed lives of and injured many people. First and foremost, my thoughts go out to those affected and to the kins of those who were killed. The British authorities had warned our government authorities that the British-built bridge would collapse soon. But our officers ignored them by saying that they had inspected it 2 months ago and everything was fine. But look at it now, the bridge has collapsed and claimed many lives. Is this the inspection that you have done 'two months ago'? Why are you silent now? Are you planning another inspection? My 'dear' Government Authorities, please do not ignore 'suggestions' given by others. Look into them and do the needful. People won't say anything without a reason. It is for your own country's citizen's safety, and kindly remember that maybe YOU could have put your family's lives in danger too!

Are we late, too late, or is it the right time to bring strong laws for protecting nature?!

I was just scrolling through the Times of India's website, where I suddenly saw a headline "Hefty penalties SOON  for destruction of Forests. I was just thinking, we is the word 'soon' added to the headline? We can't we just do it now, TODAY. Do you know, one tree is cut down every five minutes. So, by the end of a year, the total number of forests that is cut down goes more than 100. Elders have taught us this particular phrase- Never Keep Anything for Tomorrow That Can Be Done Today. But no one is keeping by this phrase. When we see someone cutting a tree, we may think, "Oh, Its just one tree! Nothing is going to happen if that is cut off." But remember, something will happen, if we continue to think like that and if we do not conserve trees. If I were given a chance to edit a dictionary, I would probably remove the word "soon" and replace it with a "today". Always remember- If your future generation wants to live peacefully w...
At last the hot weather has calmed down and it has been raining heavily in Kerala for the past two days. Also, the Legislative Assembly Elections are also going on and everyone are anxious to know whether the rains are going to affect the counting. The meteorology department of Kerala has issued a warning to the fisherman not to go fishing as the waves can go upto 3 meters high in the coastal areas. It is the same situation in Tamil Nadu, Kolkata, and Assam. Relief camps and ... rescue operation are put on standby in TN, just in case anything happens like the flood that occurred in December. In Assam, 16 are injured due to landslides. Kolkata is bracing itself for the storms that are expected to move in the north-east direction. The misery is not only in the Indian states but also in Colombo, Sri Lanka. The torrential rainfall has caused a massive landslide due to which more than 200 families have gone missing. This has occurred in a very remote area in Sri Lanka due to which res...
