In a quick turn of events, the Congress extended full support to the Janata Dal (Secular), aloso known as the JD(S) for forming the government. Both the Congress and the JD(S) have put together more MLAs than the actual number of 111.

Legally, the Congress gets to form the government yet again as they have the support of 116 MLAs and two independent MLAs. The BJP may try to get the power to form the government with the help of their 'tricks', but even then, they will not succeed.

Now, the current Chief Minister of Karnataka, Siddaramaiah, has offered to give up his position to his political foe, HD Kumaraswamy, son of former Prime Minister of India, HD Deve Gowda.

Now, if you don't know, Siddaramaiah was thrown out of the JD(S) in 2005, for his anti-party activities and sharp differences with HD Kumaraswamy's growing popularity in the JD(S).

Mr. Kumaraswamy of JD(S) had requested for an appointment with the Governor of Karnataka at 5:30pm IST.

The BJP, led by B.S. Yeddyurappa, H.N. Ananth Kumar and Muralidhar Rao has also seen the Governor of Karnataka and has given the letter to stake the claim to form the government in Karnataka.

Let us now see who will form the government in Karnataka, as the Governor plays his 'waiting game'.
